Avax.network — Blockticity Launches Avalanche-Powered L1 to Authenticate $1.2B+ in Global Trade

Blockticity, a Miami-based trade-tech start-up, has spun up its own Avalanche Layer-1 chain via AvaCloud and begun migrating 45,000 existing Certificates of Authenticity while minting another 700,000 on the new network—tokens that together vouch for more than $1.2 billion worth of goods, according to the company’s launch materials.2 Built on Avalanche’s customizable subnet architecture, the chain promises near-instant settlement, predictable gas fees and enough headroom to scale well beyond the current trove of authenticated commodities, which ranges from coffee beans to critical minerals.

The project is designed to address a counterfeit-document problem that regulators estimate costs global trade as much as $3 trillion annually. Each on-chain certificate embeds tamper-evident metadata and conforms to ASTM’s D8558 standard, giving customs officers in the United States and Europe a machine-verifiable trail of provenance at the border.4 By relocating its attestations from Avalanche’s shared C-Chain to a validator-secured sovereign network, Blockticity hopes to reassure enterprise shippers—and the auditors who police them—that authenticity can be proven at scale.
