From quarters to cycles: accelerating ethereum.org

Ethereum.org is evolving its development process by adopting Shape Up cycles, which consist of focused 6-week build periods followed by 2-week cooldowns. This new approach aims to accelerate the development and improvement of the ethereum.org website. The first cycle, starting January 20th, will see the completion and shipment of several key projects by the end of February.

Key Ideas

  1. Core Ethereum.org Improvements: Several core improvements are planned for ethereum.org during Cycle 1. These include making Vitalik's Ethereum roadmap more beginner-friendly and interactive, implementing audio capabilities for key pages, adding native Web3 features, creating a central dashboard hub for essential Ethereum tracking tools, and conducting a comprehensive update of existing content. Additionally, new educational content will be developed, and preparations will be made for the Pectra upgrade.

  2. Ecosystem Projects and Community Engagement: Cycle 1 will also focus on ecosystem projects such as launching ethproofs.org, a platform to track zkVM capabilities, and updating launchpad.ethereum.org to support MAXEB changes for validators. Community engagement efforts will include a more active social media presence, distributing acknowledgments to standout contributors, and exploring ways to improve the experience for non-English users.
