The year 2024 was a significant year for ethereum.org, marked by numerous achievements and community-driven initiatives. As the platform gears up for projects and initiatives in 2025, it is essential to reflect on the accomplishments of the past year.
Launching the Dencun FAQ: In response to the deployment of the Cancun-Deneb (Dencun) network upgrade in March 2024, ethereum.org created a FAQ-style page to explain the latest upgrade. This initiative built on the comprehensive hub for Ethereum's protocol roadmap established in 2023, addressing the community's questions and providing clarity on the upgrade.
Translatathon and Community Engagement: The second edition of ethereum.org's Translatathon exceeded expectations, with 327 participants translating 2.53 million words into 70 languages over two weeks. This global effort included 12 in-person translation hubs across four continents, significantly increasing the accessibility of Ethereum-related content. Additionally, the Contributor Acknowledgement Program recognized and rewarded community members for their contributions, distributing over 800 'proof of contribution' badges across various categories.
Technical Improvements and Community Events: ethereum.org migrated its UI library to ShadCN, based on Tailwind CSS, to enhance performance and user experience. The platform also participated in Devcon SEA, fostering community connections and distributing merchandise to contributors. Throughout the year, ethereum.org hosted numerous community events, including Office Hours, Community Calls, and Q&A sessions, to engage with the community and simplify complex Ethereum topics.
