ZKsync Roadmap 2025: Web3 Without Compromise

ZKsync is building an “Internet of Value” powered by an elastic network of zero-knowledge (ZK) chains, aiming to deliver the convenience, performance, and user experience of Web2 while retaining the security, privacy, and verifiability of Web3. The mission centers on advancing personal freedom and accelerating mass crypto adoption by removing compromises in blockchain infrastructure.

Key Goals

  1. Elastic Network & Developer Experience: ZKsync has transitioned from a single L2 into a multi-chain elastic network, enabling specialized ZK chains to interoperate and share liquidity. The 2025 focus is on bytecode-level EVM equivalence, advanced LLVM tooling, and a VS Code debugger, making the developer experience as smooth as Web2. The stack will support both Solidity and WASM-based contracts, welcoming developers from various backgrounds

  2. Performance, Security, and Privacy: ZKsync’s BoojumOS and BoojumVM aim for 10,000 TPS at $0.0001 per ERC20 transfer by the end of 2025. The roadmap prioritizes decentralized sequencing, forced transaction inclusion, and a fully decentralized proving system. Innovations like smart wallet SDKs (with biometric sign-on) and private validium chains are set to improve UX and enable enterprise adoption. Native cross-chain interoperability will allow public and private chains to interact securely, creating unified liquidity and new use cases.
